New Year's goals.

Some people love 'em, some people hate 'em.

I happen to be one of those people who love them and need the extra motivation to become a better person. Which is where my inspiration came from for these New Year's prints.

These prints are bound to be inspirational to bring on 2015 with a bang. To tackle those to-do's or how you might want to change yourself.

Some goals I have for myself are:
. To send actual birthday cards to each of my siblings.
. Give more focus on my little shop. And yes, I have somewhat of a game plan.

Now it's your turn to bring on the new year with a ROAR by winning one of these 3 incentive prints from my shop.

To the new year! And good luck!

Tawnie won the Christmas card giveaway and here is the design reveal! She was super easy to work with and ordered them right away from Overnight Prints. We did the postcard option and she chose to do rounded corners. Super beautiful! It was a pleasure to work with her and I'm excited to do this giveaway next year!

Precious Moments make-over reveal! They still look like Precious Moments, but at least now with a new paint job it's not screaming Precious Moments. It'll do for now and at least by having a nativity is what matters the most.

Last year my Mom was throwing out some of her old Christmas decorations, some of which I had grown up with my entire life and just couldn't let go of. I'm talking Precious Moments - cheery hand-painted 90's stuff.

Sounding cute, right?

I so wanted these pieces to work into my Classy Christmas theme - they HAD to work!

A year later, it finally came to me that they just needed a paint job. That's it. Nothing modge-podged or vinyl-lettered. Just a classy paint make-over.

So here it is, 90's Christmas tree advent calendar turned into Classy Chic 2014 Christmas Countdown:

Check back to see the Precious Moments nativity scene reveal. It will blow your mind with what a good paint job can do!

My original idea with these origami stars were to make them using old sheet music, but that was harder to come by than I thought! So, luckily my Mom had an old book she didn't mind me using - tearing out the pages to make these stars.

Tools you will need:
paper
Glu-Dots or glue
ornament hanging hooks
(I found some at the dollar store)

With your paper, follow these instructions on how to fold an origami star.

To add variety, make different sizes.

Once you're done folding, poke a hole with your hook and hang it onto the tree. These are pretty fragile due to the paper being fragile, so make sure you are handling these and not small children.

Guys, these are seriously the easiest ornament you could ever make! After I finished them, I asked myself, "Was that it??" I seriously felt like more effort should've been required.

Tools you will need:
 scissors, thread, hot gluegun, pinecones
1. Take some thread, cut it so there's enough to form a big loop large enough to hang on your tree. Probably about 4-6 inches.

2. Tie it off in a square knot.

3. Hot glue the knotted loop part onto the pinecone.

Wait for it to set and dry and...

THAT'S IT!
Seriously. Easy-peasy. You could add a nice ribbon bow to spruce it up a bit or keep it magical like it's a floating pinecone.

Your choice.

You are officially on your way to a Classy Christmas.

I found this box of free ornaments at a local Give and Take a few years ago. We were newly married and didn't have any ornaments, so I knew I needed to snag them!
Only, they weren't very pretty.

Most of them had burnt-light spots and they needed a makeover if they were to be used again. I decided to use what I had a lot on-hand after just getting married - white tissue paper! So, here are some techniques I used to make these bulb ornaments reusable and pretty again:

Tools you will need:
lots of tissue paper
scissors
hot glue gun
felt
twine
tulle
ribbon
fabric

Ornament #1: Cinna-Bulb
. Cut up your tissue paper into about 3 inch wide strips.
. Fold to give it some volume.

. Twist the strips.
. Once you have a lot of strips, start gluing them onto your bulb ornament in layers.
 Ornament #2: Flakey Biscuit
. Cut up squares, rectangles of tissue paper. Fold them up a bit to give them more volume. Glue them all over on your bulb.
Ornament #3: Spit-Wad
. This really isn't made by spitting onto you paper... But as I was trying to come up with a name for this creation, I decided that that's what it kinda looks like. Ooops! Well, this one is really easy if you still want to try it: Cut out rectangles of tissue paper, scrunch them up into volumized balls, and glue onto your bulb. Easy-peasy.

Ornament #4: Scalloped

. Using felt this time, cut out little 1 inch - 2 inch circles. Glue them on your bulb starting from the bottom and layering until you get to the top.
Ornament #5: Raggedy-Anne
. Get some fabric that shreds really well and cut out a long strip. Muslim or cotton. Even burlap. Shred one side of the strip by pulling the vertical threads out. Starting from the bottom, glue onto your bulb layering around and around until it's fully covered.
Ornament #6: String-Thing
. Using twine of any sort, start at the bottom and glue the twine around and around, layer upon layer until the whole thing is covered.
 Ornament #7: Tulle Bombs
. Using tulle, cut out a square large enough to cover your bulb and have leftovers. Cut a piece of ribbon about 1.5 inches and set aside.
. Cover your square tulle over your bulb and gather it at the top. Glue a bit of it to hold it together on the bulb.
. Grab your piece of ribbon and fasten it around the top of your bulb and glue it together.

The next few posts will be about my homemade ornaments. These tag ornaments are so easy. They're a lot like those plaque ornaments with sayings, but they're made out of paper instead of mirrors or slates.

Tools you will need:
card stock
printer/pen
clothes pins
paint (optional)

1. Draw out your own little tags or find some online.

2. Trim.

3. Paint your clothes pins. I just painted the front side of it. Let dry.

4. Hang on your tree with the clothes pin!

I wanted to share a series of cheap Christmas decorating crafts with you. My own Christmas decorations are what I call, "Classy Christmas meets a little bit of Shabby Rustic Chic," but for short I'm just calling it, "Classy Christmas."

So, the first of this series is this pinecone wreath with the base made entirely out of popsicle sticks! It takes a little more work, but it's cheap!

I am IN LOVE with how this wreath turned out. I was taking a big risk using popsicle sticks as the wreath base, but it turned out! Yes, the base is made entirely out of popsicle sticks! Cha-ching! Money saving!
(*Note: I have had issues with it falling down due to the popsicle sticks not being strong enough, but I hot-glued it extra good and it hasn't fallen down since. But I do suggest only using this method for light-weight decorations on the wreath and nothing too heavy and bulky added.)

Tools you will need:
lots of popsicle sticks! (I didn't count, but I'd say about 50)
hot-glue gun
pinecones
fun items as fill-ins
letter
ribbon
1. Arrange a 12 sided dodecagon (yes, I looked that up) out of the popsicle sticks. Glue together when you feel like they the sides are pretty even and circular looking. It doesn't need to be perfect. It'll be covered up by pinecones.
 2. Add 4 more layers switching off in different directions so the wreath is able to gain stability and volume for adding pinecones.

   3. After the wreath base is done, start adding your pinecones. I collected mine last year, but you can buy them at any craft store. Try to cover it as best as you can, but there will be holes where you can see the popsicle sticks.
 4. So, you'll need to fill in those holes with fun little decorations! What I got for mine were: berries, feathers with bells, and sticks with bells. They were at Jo-Anns 50% off, so I went for it. Hobby Lobby has TONS of fun fillers. And those are 50% off too. And literally there are tons.

5. Let it all dry and set over night, then tie your ribbon around your letter and wreath. Then hang it up on your door! And bam! Classy Christmas wreath.

The giveaway I did last year for a custom Christmas card seemed to be pretty popular, so I'm bringin' it back!

Here's my family Christmas card I did this year and some examples of past cards:

I am in love with the kraft envelopes I found at Paper and More! They add the perfect touch to make these look homemade, but crisp and clean.
So, onto the giveaway! This time of year is SO BUSY, so let me do the work for you to make your family card look fabulous. This giveaway is for 1 digital file (or 2 if you want it front and back like my card) for a custom Christmas card designed by yours truly. You'll need to print them yourself at your local print lab or or else I can do it for you and we can talk about fun stuff like prices. Your choice. But I will say that getting it printed at a print lab is cheaper than Shutterfly. Just sayin'. Good luck and I can't wait to work with you!
a Rafflecopter giveaway

The freebie is for sheet of these heart stickers! Either buy sticker paper at Staples or Wal-Mart (stores that sell paper goods) and print it at home or get the file professionally printed at FedEx and they have sticker paper already there that they can print on for you. I think it's $1/sheet. The circles are 1" and 40 on a page.
