Ok, so this quick fix isn't likely that you'll ever use it. BUT! !f you every do, you'll remember reading this post and think to use it.

I was given this CUTE white dress from my mom at my baby shower and it wasn't until I tried putting it on baby, that I noticed that there was no way to get it over her head! There was no zipper, no buttons, and not even a stretchy neckline. She doesn't even have a big head for her age, so I was really confused as to why the manufacturers made the dress like this! Crazy. And it was crazy cute too! I did not want to give up on this fabulous dress. So I decided to make a snap strap for it! Because of course, if one of the straps could be undone then she would be able to get into the rest of the dress!
So here is the Snap Strap:

Cut the strap. Hand sew along the edges to prevent any fraying.

Hand sew the outward rounded edge of snap on the bottom layer of strap and the flat edge of the other half on the pulling layer of strap.

And you're done!

Worked like a charm during her one year old photoshoot!

I don't know about you, but it seems like every time I wear a headband these days it seems to never stay in place! Even a couple of bobby pins won't do the trick! So I decided to try to take them in so the elastic would be tighter. Have the same problem? Fix yours too! It's simple. Here's how:

scissors

matching thread

needle

candle/lighter

Cut the desired amount off.

Hand sew both ends together.

Burn headband edges with candle/lighter so the edges won't fray.

And voia-la!

It's good to have headbands back in place.

I went ahead and did it to all of my other headbands! As you can see, some I didn't need to take-in as much as others because I haven't worn them as much. So do as much as needed for yourself.

I originally found this tutorial posted | here | but she copied from the link from | here |. So go to that last link to take a better look. She used a foam wreath and pins, but I was able to find a wicker wreath at DI for $.75...! So I used a good ol' hot glue gun for my adhesive.

any type of wreath (foam, straw, whatever) of the size you want it to be

1 yard of your choice of fabric

hot glue gun and lots of extra sticks

fabric scissors

Cut a strip or 2 or 3 (depending on how big your wreath is) about 2 inches thick and wrap and glue around the wreath. This will help hide the color of the wreath underneath just in case it shows.

Cut strips of fabric about 2 inches thick, the thicker the strip, the faster it goes. But do whatever length you want for the look you're going for. Take a strip and fold it in a fan-like fashion. Cut it where you get the length and folds to your desire. Dab some glue on the back and place firmly on wreath. Add glue where ever you feel needs some perfecting. Just continue with the same technique by layering each piece on top of the other until the wreath is covered!
