The next few posts will be about my homemade ornaments. These tag ornaments are so easy. They're a lot like those plaque ornaments with sayings, but they're made out of paper instead of mirrors or slates.


1. Draw out your own little tags or find some online.

2. Trim.

3. Paint your clothes pins. I just painted the front side of it. Let dry.

4. Hang on your tree with the clothes pin!

 2. Add 4 more layers switching off in different directions so the wreath is able to gain stability and volume for adding pinecones.


   3. After the wreath base is done, start adding your pinecones. I collected mine last year, but you can buy them at any craft store. Try to cover it as best as you can, but there will be holes where you can see the popsicle sticks.
 4. So, you'll need to fill in those holes with fun little decorations! What I got for mine were: berries, feathers with bells, and sticks with bells. They were at Jo-Anns 50% off, so I went for it. Hobby Lobby has TONS of fun fillers. And those are 50% off too. And literally there are tons.

5. Let it all dry and set over night, then tie your ribbon around your letter and wreath. Then hang it up on your door! And bam! Classy Christmas wreath.

The freebie is for sheet of these heart stickers! Either buy sticker paper at Staples or Wal-Mart (stores that sell paper goods) and print it at home or get the file professionally printed at FedEx and they have sticker paper already there that they can print on for you. I think it's $1/sheet. The circles are 1" and 40 on a page.

 1. Cut burlap into rectangles. I did mine 4"x5.5"
 2. Make letters you can use to trace onto your fabric. I used a cricut cutter. But another way if you don't have access to a cricut is to print out your letters from your printer, cut out and then they're ready to trace onto your fabric.
3. Trace and cut letters from fabric.
 4. Place letter onto rectangle and sew onto burlap.

 5. After you've sewn all your letters onto a burlap rectangle, line them up on your twine to see how you may need to space them for how you want them placed on your banner.
 6. Using a zig-zag stitch, sew twine onto burlap rectangles leaving some extra twine on the sides so you can use that to hang it up. Be sure to back-stitch with each new rectangle.

7. Cut off excess twine and you're done! Now you have a festive Thanksgiving banner to remind yourself and your family to try and have more gratitude!
