I've been such a copycat lately! I saw these animal valentine's on some sort of "45 of the best homemade valentine ideas" and knew I needed to do these for my daughter. She loves animals so it's a representation of her at this age. And let's be honest, it's just a super cute idea and any kid would love to get a little animal for Valentine's.
I found these particular animals at Target in the toy section by all of the other plastic animals. There were also some in the party aisle, but these were cuter.

Directions: Print off free valentine's printable (link down below). Get an animal. Tie some baker's twine around the body and then hot glue onto the card stock printed valentine. Hot glue is easy to peel off, which is why I decided to use it.
Even though I copied the idea, I designed the card part and will be giving the template as a freebie!

Literally days before I had my baby, I threw a birthday party for my husband! He's always been a Star Wars fan, but with the new movie coming out, there was more excitement to have a great party for him. He's very much the type who doesn't care for parties, but since this was the big 3-0, he actually wanted a party! And I love throwing parties, so I was very excited to put this all together for him.
We just invited family, so there were going to be guests of all ages coming. Because of this big age span, there were activities made to please all age groups.

I made up 2 different paper games for the adults and older kids: a quote "guess who said what" game and a true or false game, both involving all 6 of the movies.

Then for the little kids there were coloring pages (because adults want to talk to each other without their kids butting in! AmIright?? ), Build a Droid/Character (paper dolls), Pin the Bun on Leia, and gathering candy from the Death Star piñata!

*Just Google "Star Wars free coloring pages" to find a limitless amount of coloring pages.
A pencil to use for the paper games and as a thank you favor.
Found at the Target dollar spot, 6 for $1!
I found these Star Wars paper dolls from different artists. Yoda. Stormtrooper. R2-D2.
For Pin the Bun on Leia, I've heard a lot about how Staples can print huge poster prints for super cheap. I decided this would be a great time to look into it and try it out. Turns out, it's true! It's not the greatest of quality, but for a game, it worked great. The photo I found online wasn't even the biggest resolution I could find, but again, it still worked out fine.

To make the buns, get brown card stock and using a bowl which would be about the same size as her bun, trace around the edges of the bowl to make perfect circles. Make enough circles for your guests. Cut out. (Or better yet, use a Cricut to make your circles!) Then, using a black Sharpie, draw the swirl in the middle.
Yes, I made this gigantic piñata of the Death Star and yes I just wanted my husband to break it all by himself! The kids didn't even seem to mind that they didn't get a turn to whack at it, but loved getting all the candy as it fell.

I won't even go into detail on how I made this because there are plenty of blogs out there to explain how to make one, but because this was my first time ever making a piñata, I found this site to be the best reference. I will say I was able to find this gigantic balloon at the Partyland store, which was a total surprise. I did not think a balloon this big even existed!

I also painted a plain wooden rod, found at any craft store (Jo-Anns, Hobby Lobby, Michael's) to look like a light saber, so that was a fun touch.
And what's a themed party without themed food labels?? We had originally planned to have The Empire Strikes Back playing in the background on a projector, but we couldn't get it to work! So we had the soundtrack playing instead, but the movie was what inspired me to serve finger foods for lunch.
There are fun Star Wars themed foods everywhere online, so I stole those ideas except for "Bantha Meat" for pulled pork sandwiches and "Force Fruit" for the fruit. But it was really fun to look around and see what others had come up with!

This cake was so much fun! Again, I did not come up with this concept, but stole the idea.

Because most of this party package isn't very original, just the designing, I decided I should make the entire package a freebie. So I hope you enjoy my take on an adult Star Wars party!

My cute Mom asked me to do her Christmas card for her. My family had a reunion this past summer and everyone was there, so a family picture was needed! She sends out a card every year, but to have a photo with everyone in it is special once your family keeps growing!

This card was printed with rounded corners using Overnight Prints printing service. It was a 5x7 postcard and then she added an additional piece of paper including the highlights of their year.

This next card was the winner of my Christmas card giveaway! She didn't have much of a preference and trusted me to just do what I wanted. She gave me some great family photos to work with, so I knew I wanted to make a nice collage using as many as I could.

Card was also printed using Overnight Prints on a 5x7 postcard.

I love how my family Christmas cards turned out this year! I really wanted to have rounded corners, so I splurged a bit and got them professionally printed.

I went for a simple design because I wanted to have a colored envelope. I'm really into colored envelopes right now... but they're just so fun to get in the mail!

The "Seasons Greetings" was hand-drawn by me and the rest was designed on the computer. I feel like it's very unique and would go well with any other pop of color. I chose to do yellow because even though it's not Christmassy, it matches the photo and I wanted the overall design to be cohesive.

If you're like me, you like glitter, but HATE the mess it strings around with it! It drives me crazy because it just sticks to everything and even the vacuum can't get it out! But it's so beautiful because it's shiny and sparkly.

I've heard before that spraying hairspray can make the glitter stay on.

It didn't work. #pinterestfail

And so for years I've been putting up with my annoying glittery Christmas ornaments and not letting my daughter put them on the tree because I needed to delicately put them on myself. I mean, once the glitter is gone, it's gone! There's no going back unless you want to turn it into an art project.

And then it finally dawned on me: use Modge Podge. It's clear, it's stable and holds a lot of things together. So onto the tutorial. It'll literally take you 10 minutes if you have just a few things + drying time.

Tools you will need:
glitter items from the abyss
Modge Podge
sponge brush
paper plate
piece of wax paper
1. Set out your wax paper and paper plate. Pour some Modge Podge on the plate and set your glitter items on the wax paper.
2. Start painting your items with the Modge Podge. There's no need for it to be perfect. In fact, I had my 3 year old help me because it dries clear anyways, so no mistakes will ever show through. She had a lot of fun being able to help me "paint." There's also no need to use a lot or a thick coat. Just dab a layer on and let it dry.
 3. After it dries, you're done!
As you can see, you really can do this to anything that has glitter on it. I used it for some bows, magnet clips and ornaments, but the possibilities are endless! No more fallen glitter!
