Tawnie won the Christmas card giveaway and here is the design reveal! She was super easy to work with and ordered them right away from Overnight Prints. We did the postcard option and she chose to do rounded corners. Super beautiful! It was a pleasure to work with her and I'm excited to do this giveaway next year!

Last year my Mom was throwing out some of her old Christmas decorations, some of which I had grown up with my entire life and just couldn't let go of. I'm talking Precious Moments - cheery hand-painted 90's stuff.

Sounding cute, right?

I so wanted these pieces to work into my Classy Christmas theme - they HAD to work!

A year later, it finally came to me that they just needed a paint job. That's it. Nothing modge-podged or vinyl-lettered. Just a classy paint make-over.

So here it is, 90's Christmas tree advent calendar turned into Classy Chic 2014 Christmas Countdown:

My original idea with these origami stars were to make them using old sheet music, but that was harder to come by than I thought! So, luckily my Mom had an old book she didn't mind me using - tearing out the pages to make these stars.

Seriously. Easy-peasy. You could add a nice ribbon bow to spruce it up a bit or keep it magical like it's a floating pinecone.

You are officially on your way to a Classy Christmas.

Only, they weren't very pretty.
 . Cut up your tissue paper into about 3 inch wide strips.
 . Fold to give it some volume.

. Twist the strips.
. Once you have a lot of strips, start gluing them onto your bulb ornament in layers.
 Ornament #2: Flakey Biscuit
. Cut up squares, rectangles of tissue paper. Fold them up a bit to give them more volume. Glue them all over on your bulb.
Ornament #3: Spit-Wad
. This really isn't made by spitting onto you paper... But as I was trying to come up with a name for this creation, I decided that that's what it kinda looks like. Ooops! Well, this one is really easy if you still want to try it: Cut out rectangles of tissue paper, scrunch them up into volumized balls, and glue onto your bulb. Easy-peasy.



. Using felt this time, cut out little 1 inch - 2 inch circles. Glue them on your bulb starting from the bottom and layering until you get to the top.
 . Using twine of any sort, start at the bottom and glue the twine around and around, layer upon layer until the whole thing is covered.
 Ornament #7: Tulle Bombs
. Using tulle, cut out a square large enough to cover your bulb and have leftovers. Cut a piece of ribbon about 1.5 inches and set aside.
. Cover your square tulle over your bulb and gather it at the top. Glue a bit of it to hold it together on the bulb.
. Grab your piece of ribbon and fasten it around the top of your bulb and glue it together.
