So I have an 18 month old and I really want to take her around to a few houses as her first Trick or Treating experience! I'm really excited. But because she won't be getting a ton of candy, I didn't want to buy a big bag. I wanted her to be able to hold her little bag easily so it needed to be small. I've already made too many errands to Wal-Mart, so I really didn't want to go back for one little thing. So I decided to make her one! I'm kinda not making her costume, so I figure this can make up for it. She'll still be able to use it for a few more years, right?

Tools you will need:

fabric of your choice
pins
scissors
thread of your choice
ruler
iron (it helps make the sewing easier)

First, cut out the size you want your tote to be. I did hers 22x10.5 (which is including the extra seaming space). Then press and pin the sides in so you can have nice clean lines. Sew all around it.

Second, make your color-blocked handles. The total length I made the handles was 18in. The yellow blocks were each 4.5 and the black blocks were 9in. The width was 1.5 in. Iron/press for sewing ease.

Third, sew the yellow blocks to the black.

Fourth, sew the entire strip together length-wise. Turn right-side out. Press.

Fifth, sew your handles to your tote body! I sewed over it twice for durability.

Sixth, fold tote and sew the sides together. Make sure you don't sew around the whole thing! At this point, add in your little tag on one of the sides if you'd like!

Seventh, turn it out and press. And you're done! I don't have a serger, so I didn't serge any of the sides. You are welcome to do so if you own one! It will make the inside much prettier!

Remember? It's this print.

I'm so excited for this chance to get some recognition! Check it out here. They're doing a nursery trend watch with ombre and there are a lot of good ideas!

This is by far my most popular print in my shop. I wish I could do more stuff like it right now, but I'm so busy! School has been really hard and that and my family is my priority right now. Such a shame I can't devote more time because this really is a big leap for my little shop.

Happy Monday!

I suppose I better jump on the Fall/Halloween bandwagon and get my little home decor ideas out there before it's too late.

This is a super simple, super cheap decor craft that can be used for any holiday. But because it's Halloween time, this looks like fall decor instead.

Tools you will need:
frame of your choice
paper of your choice

1. Measure out the size of paper you'll need to fit a frame box (where the photo would normally go) then trim it.

I had 3 different frame boxes and so I measured out 3 different types of paper to fill the spaces.

2. Then tape it onto the mat (or glass) to where it needs to be placed.

3. Then put the frame together and it's ready to go!

Place with other decor pieces for a more put-together look.
