Did you know I do custom work? Well, I do!

This lovely bride-to-be asked me to customize my "Oh, My Darling Clementine" print to say "Clemens-tine" instead of "Clementine" because her new last name will be Clemens and this is a wedding gift for her man.

I was a little worried about making all of the additional letters fit, but it worked!
This wasn't my first custom project for this specific print. I've had others ask for names of their baby with their birth year added at the bottom. I love doing customizations because for a moment I feel a connection with others around me and I get be an instrument in making a memory for them.

If you want a customized print, you can request a custom order right on my Etsy shop! Or if you want to talk about it first, just shoot me an email. Both are just a click away on the site.

A few years ago I did a TV segment on the local news station showcasing this DIY project and then they briefly mentioned my business. (Hey, it was 2 minutes long! A lot was crammed in there!)

It was my first time being on TV, it was something that took a lot of guts and was way out of my comfort zone! So afterwards I totally forgot to post this DIY because I was so relieved it was over!
I love this garland because it's so easy. It's not super time consuming too. Just make it while you watch a movie or your favorite TV show!
I already made a tutorial for it here. I used these garlands to decorate my daughter's birthday party and they were so great on a budget.
There are two different kinds you can make. The first one that's showed above (Rag Garland) and the option shown below (Knot Garland). Both are equally easy, but I will say the Knot Garland uses more fabric if that's a concern.
So go grab some red, white and blue fabric and make yourself some American decor!

There are many patriotic themes and statements granted to the United States, but I chose to focus on this verse from our national anthem.

When I was in 5th grade there was an art contest held for Veteran's Day and the theme was "What does freedom mean to you?" My brother had recently gone to the Arlington National Cemetery for a  school field trip and told me I should draw the cemetery and answer the question with "Freedom isn't free." I got first place, not because my drawing was the best, but because of the message. The kid who got second drew a way better picture than I did, so I knew it wasn't because of my skills... But the message cuts deep because it rings true. Countless men and women over a span of over 400 years have sacrificed their lives for their country so we can enjoy the life we have now. My heart aches when kids aren't respectful during the national anthem or when people can't quit talking to give 2 minutes of respect to their country's flag.

I know things are bleak now, and frankly, many of us want to move to Canada, but we owe it to those who have painted this country red and given up all they had for the greater good. We owe it to them to celebrate and keep them in our memories.
I hope you enjoy this free printable to remind you of the wonderful country we live in.

My friend Tracy asked me to design her baby's blessing invitation for her and I couldn't have been more thrilled for the opportunity!

I really love this idea of an invitation opposed to a baby announcement. I feel like with the internet and word getting out so quickly, by the time you receive an announcement in the mail you've already seen 100+ pictures of the baby anyways. It's always fun to get in the mail. It's one of those items I call "fun mail," but I kind of think they're not as necessary as they used to be. There is always a spot in the baby book for an announcement, but you could put an invitation there instead! (Sorry, if you're hatin' - I'm just such a practical person!)
I suggested blush florals and it was a go! These are 4x6 invitations with a printed back design as well.
Tracy is an Usborne consultant and we just did a straight up trade for both of our services. I got some sweet activity books for a road trip which my daughter will be able to use on our trip to our family reunion at the end of the month! Exciting!

I'm the type of person where if it's last minute and I don't have other things I need to get at the store, I don't go to the store. I make do with what I got. This rings true with cards. I don't know why, but even as someone who makes cards, I forget to get one along with the gift!
So here I've made it easy: Two Mother's Day cards you can print from the convenience of you're own home! Now you have no excuse not to have a card ready for Ma and you can stay home, bra-less in your comfy pants too!

Unless you've ran out of printing ink, then in that case, I can't help you there...
Both cards can be used for any type of Mother figure you may have, but the second design rings true to the woman who wasn't your real mom, but sure as heck could be!
Cards are 5"x7"

"What I am you helped me to be" printable download.
"I know you're not really my mom" printable download.

Don't forget I have Mother's Day prints ON SALE for $7.60 shipped! A card and gift all in one! Check out this post for the variety of prints.
