My cute sister-in-law is getting married! I told her I would love to design her wedding invitations for her as part of our gift to her and that I know how to do it for super cheap.

Bam! Hired! And here is the end result.

Once upon a time, I thought I did my own wedding invitations cheaply, but holy cow, I definitely did good for her! 600 invitations for....... $150! Did you take a double take on that?? Yeah, one-five-zero! And they were printed front and back. (Not counting envelopes or tax.)

Do you want to know the secret??

We decided to do them sized 4x6 (so a little smaller than usual) and printed all in black/white. That cuts down on the cost of paper and color ink. I also had them printed at a local print lab, instead of an actual invitation company. That way you're only paying per copy instead of per invitation. That's where the chunk of cost comes from!

Her colors are: fuchsia, black, white, and grey, so I thought a fun way to bring color to the black and white invitations would be by getting fuchsia envelopes. It pops so much and it was so fun getting a bright colored envelope in the mail!

My oldest niece is growing up! And wanted to have a grown-up party. I loved how she picked to do a murder mystery party. I still have never participated in one of those so I was a little jealous because they always look so fun!

My sister and I do tradesies - she takes my family pictures and I do random stuff she wants. This year I told her I can design party stuff for her kids and my niece gladly took up the offer. This was a really fun project to do and it was fun finding out who-dun-it as I went along!

I was thinking it would've been fun to decorate it all florally, like it was a garden party because the lady who died was very rich and involved. So I asked my niece if she would rather have it be like a garden party or mafia-like, and she chose mafia. (*Insert laugh-crying emoji here!*) Which is why I have the Bodoni-like font and red and black colors. Classy gangta!

Elements I designed for this party were: Invitation, character descriptions, character sheets, name place cards, candy wrappers, and invitation envelope stickers. (Note: I did not make up the murder mystery. My sister found a free packet and I copied the information, but designed it.)
We decided to put the invitation and the person's character description in a
9x6 manila envelope to make it more unique, mysterious and "top-secret-like."
Name place cards for the dinner table, candy wrappers as part of their favors
and "For Your Eyes Only" sticker for the invitation envelopes.

Character sheets full of questions and back-stories for the party.
Dinner name place cards.

The guest's "inheritance" party favors.

From what I heard, this was a super fun party for 12 year old girls. Everyone had a blast!

My cute nephew loves dinosaurs (what little boy doesn't??), so my sister wanted to throw him a dino-themed birthday party and asked if I could design the invitations.

The party turned out to be so cute! My sister had some great theme-based activities planned. There was a dinosaur egg hunt, bean bag toss into the dinosaur's mouth (which she made out of cardboard and drew a dinosaur on), and dig for "bones" in the sandbox.

I threw this party for my 3 year old daughter, who loves horses. I knew she would love to have some stick horses of her own since she already rides around on broomsticks and wrapping paper rolls... Which is why I decided to make a few for her (one for her and one for a friend for playdates - to eliminate fighting...).

I was prepared to do an entire tutorial on how I made these, but then I realized, I pretty much just copied the tutorial from A Beautiful Mess, and that isn't right for me to do that. Theirs is pretty vague, it took some brain-work to figure it out, which is why I thought, "If I did mine totally step-by-step, then I'm not copying, right??" Well, I still didn't feel good about it, so I just suggest if you would like to make a few of these on your own, go to their site and use their tutorial. I feel like some bloggers do a lot of copying, which is something I am not ok with. Just be yourself! That's good enough!

A few things I did differently:
. I used felt for the heads
. I sewed on the eye-lashes and reins because I don't trust fabric glue when it comes to children yanking on it. That took a lot of time, FYI.
. I went to Home Depot and had them cut off an entire foot off the wooden rods because she kept hitting the furniture and other people things while she rode around on it.
